What is a patented and objectified ingredient?

A patented ingredient is a unique component or mixture of very specific active ingredients protected by a patent . The formula, concentration and manufacturing method are precise, which guarantees the beneficial properties of the patented ingredient.

All the patented ingredients in our formulas are objectified , that is to say they justify rigorous scientific evaluations having demonstrated their effectiveness and their health benefits.

These evaluations are published in reference scientific journals through clinical studies or in vitro studies.

The presence of patented and verified ingredients in a product demonstrates its unique character and ensures its effectiveness .

What are the results of the studies on the objectified ingredient?

In 2021, Lopresti et al. conducted a randomized, double-blind study with a control group receiving a placebo to evaluate the effects of AFFRON® Saffron extract on sleep and stress. Over a period of 28 days, 120 adults who were dissatisfied with their sleep participated in this study.

The participants were divided into three groups. The first group consumed 14 mg of AFFRON® extract one hour before bedtime, the second group received 28 mg of AFFRON® extract, and the third group* received a placebo.

Results showed that Saffron supplementation with AFFRON® resulted in an increase in endogenous melatonin at bedtime for both extract concentrations. The effects on sleep were similar for the first two groups, with a significant improvement in sleep quality (+22%) and mood upon awakening, as well as a reduction in insomnia problems , compared to the group that received the placebo.

In summary, this study suggests that supplementation with AFFRON® Saffron extract has beneficial effects on sleep and mental well-being, improving sleep quality and reducing insomnia problems in people dissatisfied with their sleep. .

Adaptogenic plant

Ashwagandha , known scientifically as Withania somnifera , is an adaptogenic herb widely used in Ayurvedic medicine, native to India. It is appreciated for its numerous health benefits and its adaptogenic effect.

According to studies, Ashwagandha helps reduce the symptoms of insomnia by promoting relaxation and decreasing anxiety and stress, which are often contributing factors to insomnia. Additionally, it promotes deeper, more restful sleep, which can lead to better overall sleep quality.

Ashwagandha is also known for its calming and anti-anxiety effects , like saffron. By reducing anxiety and stress, it promotes a state of relaxation conducive to improved sleep.

What is an adaptogenic plant?

An adaptogenic plant is a medicinal plant with sourced bioactive compounds and recognized benefits. They act as metabolic regulators : they help the body to adapt and resist external factors and physical, mental and emotional stress.
These plants act by regulating the nervous, hormonal and immune systems, thus helping to maintain or restore physiological balance in the face of environmental changes. Adaptogens have been used for centuries in traditional medicine to strengthen resistance to stress, improve vitality and promote general well-being .

The term "adaptogen" was first used by Russian scientist Nikolai Lazarev in the 1940s to describe certain plants that have beneficial effects by increasing the body's resistance to stress.

Each adaptogenic herb has specific properties and may offer potential health benefits.

Results of studies carried out on the adaptogenic plant

In 2020, Deshpande et al. conducted a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study involving 144 adults to evaluate the effect of an Ashwagandha extract on sleep quality.

For 6 weeks, participants consumed 120 mg of a standardized extract daily. The study assessed several parameters using self-report questionnaires as well as actigraphy tests to record wake and sleep periods over several weeks.

The results showed that the supplemented group reported an increase in sleep quality of +72% , while the placebo group showed an improvement of only +29%. Monitoring data also revealed that the treated group had improvements in sleep efficiency, total sleep duration, sleep latency, and awakening after sleep onset compared to the placebo group.

These results suggest that taking Ashwagandha extract is beneficial for improving sleep quality in adults.
